Meade is Sports Star of Month for March

Thursday, 20th April, 2017 1:00am

Cork hurler Luke Meade has been named as the March recipient of the 96FM/C103 Sports Star of the Month Award.

Meade has enjoyed a decent spell with the hurlers so far this season and was one of the bigger talents to emerge for the Rebels in their recent League campaign. Twenty year old Meade was also a member of the Mary Immaculate team who win the Fitzgibbon Cup for the second year in-a-row in February.

The Newcestwon native was presented with his award at Rochestown Park Hotel, where he was joined by family members, clubmates as well as County Board representatives Gerard Lane (Chairman), Tracey Kennedy (Vice Chairperson) and Donal Leahy (PRO), CEO of 96FM/C103 Kieran McGeary and Sales and Marketing Manager of the Rochestown Park Hotel, Diarmuid Vaughan.
