Jones and Flannery sign Munster deals

Thursday, 15th June, 2017 9:31am

Flannery, who played with Munster until 2012, joined the province as scrum coach at the start of the 2014/2015 season. His coaching stint has resulted in appearances in two Guinness Pro12 Finals and a Champion’s Cup semi-final, over his three-year team and he will assume the role of forwards coach.

Jones was forced to retire from the game in 2015 due to a neck injury, after which he embarked on the coaching pathway as technical coach at the start of the 2016/17 season.

For the new season, he will assume the role of backline and attack coach under Director of Rugby at Munster Rassie Erasmus.

Jones is set to join the Irish camp on their summer tour for their final match against Japan in June, where he will work with the coaching team.

Meanwhile, in continuing his long association with the province, Niall O’Donovan will remain as the team manager until at least June 2020.
