Party preparation has begun!

Wednesday, 1st November, 2017 4:42pm

This week sees the party season kick off officially.

With so many functions in the coming months, I wanted to talk about getting yourself party ready. Now is the time to think about timing your waxing and brows so that you look great for all the functions you must attend.

I always think that eyebrows are a wonderful place to start as they frame your face.

For tan, I have found a high-quality product at superb value that is kind to your skin. Tantastic is not just any self-tan; it’s the perfect product for women who live fast paced, spontaneous lives and need a tan that works hard.

If you’re running from the gym to an event or a glam night out, using Tantastic means that you can spend less time prepping and more time catching up with friends. The giftset at €14.95 is an essential, containing Tantastic’s bestselling Liquid Medium Tan, a Flawless Finish Applicator Mitt and the amazing new limited edition Tan Enhancing Illuminator.

This party set will ensure you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. The illuminator is perfect for legs, arms and décolletage. It offers a gilded glow worthy of a celeb.

If you are not a tan fan, whatever the occasion, a party or celebration or just because you are fabulous, ensure your scent delights and your skin shimmers and shines with Roger & Gallet's Sublime Or Perfumed Body Cream (€16.50).

Crème Sublime Or is a luxurious body care with a generous texture that is quickly absorbed by the skin leaving a velvety finish and deeply moisturising the skin. It also leaves delicate gold flecks that settle on your skin in a subtle shimmer, beautifying the skin with radiance which will ensure a glow and shimmer.

Warm and addictive, Sublime Or lightly fragrances your skin with its scent combinations of bergamot, orange and melon along with cedar, coco while also leaving the skin with a delicate golden shimmer.

For the day of a party, in preparation, I do love a good sheet mask and budget brand Kiss have brought out a range of cotton ones for €2.95 and hydro gel ones for €6.95. The serum infused cotton ones come in a series of types from charcoal: pore minimising, honey: nourishing, to cucumber: soothing.

The hydrogel ones are a thin gel mask which allows for complete absorption of the mask’s benefits to the skin. Because there is no rinsing, you can go from desk to dancefloor in double quick time. They are the no-mess solution to a great glow, regardless of your skin type.

Glacial Illusions by CND is the latest range which is a beautiful range of light metallic to help you glam up nails if you are a fan of a nude nail and available in salons as shellac and vinylux.

My favourite shade is a rose gold one called Radiant Chill. Vinylux lasts seven days and is perfect for opaque coverage and a non-chip finish.

For selfies, you cannot beat Make Up For Ever and its HD Foundation. Ultra HD Foundation feels like a second skin, but still provides medium coverage, and the light-diffusing formula looks natural and makes skin look flawless and feel moisturised.

Exclusive 4K Complex guarantees invisible, natural and comfortable makeup. The fluid texture blends in seamlessly and conceals imperfections to unify the skin’s texture. It's great for all skin types and features a full-range of shades to cover all skin tones.

And to bling up your eyes, the Star Powder Diamond Collection (€21) is available in four delicious pastel and iridescent shades: Diamond White, Diamond Pink with purple highlights, Diamond Pink with golden highlights and Diamond Green with golden highlights.

Thanks to their high concentration in pigments and mother-of-pearls, the shades are intense and sparkly.

More next week on party looks!
