Classic skincare essentials

In recent times I have discovered that ageing, although inevitable, is something that starts happening around the age of 25.
Now, I haven’t seen that age in a long time, but it is the age that you must start looking after your skin! All the good stuff like collagen and hyaluronic acid starts exiting stage left quite rapidly and without warning.
Skincare is something I am always praising, and my attentiveness has indeed ensured that for almost 40, I am well preserved. I owe this to good eyebrows and indeed some superb brands.
I do love a new launch and some recent skin related ones have caught my eye.
Shiseido Essential Energy: Shiseido is a brand I have always loved. It is on the ball with science and it recently launched three creams with a texture to suit everyone. All priced at €59, they really are awesome! Are you ready for the science bit? (they have a research facility in Harvard). Upon contact with the skin, thousands of elastic microspheres, invisible to the naked eye, are immersed in the cream. These move freely, rolling around and flattening out, changing shape to stimulate the skin’s sensory receptors. Like a gymnastic exercise performed day after day, applying cream increases and maintains good receptivity in the skin, restoring its powers of detection and information. From my own humble perspective, I loved the day cream containing SPF 20 as it is a handy one to absorb, leaving the skin hydrated and ready for your foundation.
Vital C Hydrating Water Burst: This is a lightweight, transformational gel texture formulated to burst into intense hydration. Upon application, it will deliver antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and peptides to provide a youthful, radiant, healthier-looking complexion. This is a fantastic combination of ingredients as it protects, wakes skin up and replenishes upon application. The texture means you can use it under your current hydrator as a little ooh la la or alone as a nice lighter base. It's priced at €56.
Vital C Hydrating Overnight Masque: This is an overnight treatment with a triple mineral complex that helps the skin appear smoother and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles. Formulated with a blue-green algae extract - a natural retinoid alternative - the gel-texture delivers water to the skin and locks in vital nutrients while you sleep. It is both comfortable and non-sticky two absolute essential things to factor in when choosing a night cream and is priced at €59.50.
Vital C Hydrating Antioxidant ACE Serum: This concentrated essence for the skin infused with vitamins A, C, E and a power blend of plant antioxidants which Irish skin will love, given the mish-mash of weather we can sometimes get. I tend to only use this one by day as I feel the skin needs more replenishing rather than antioxidants at night.
Ageless Total Pure Hyaluronic Filler: It's a lovely non-sticky serum that helps to plump skin and retain HA (€85.50). Again, this one can be seamlessly slotted into your existing routine to add a boost of hydration. At this time of year, it can prove difficult to get the extra moisture as it is typically the season for air conditioning and sun exposure.
