Blarney brass and reed band take honours in clonakilty

The Blarney Brass and Reed Band last week won the Senior Section of the South West of Ireland Band Championships. The competition took place in Clonakilty and conductor Ger Condon admirably led the band to win Best March, Best Repetiore, Best Brass Section and Best Reed Section. For the second year in a row, the band also won first place in the Senior Band category. The Blarney Brass and Reed Band was formed in 1981 by a group of locals who wished to form a community musical group for both the young and old of the area.For more information on the Blarney Brass and Reed Band see
