Try the latest skin technology

There is little that evolves faster than the beauty world, and being a self confessed skincare lover, I was so intrigued by some of the latest launches. The innovation and research that has gone into them is so important and intriguing.

Following many years of research into the benefits of a healthy microbiome and countless formulations later, Rob (founder of Ren) believes caring for your microbiome is the key to your best ever skin. He had hung up his formulation boots but some years after leaving Ren, he ‘cultured’ a new age in skincare.

Formulated to support and work with your microbiome, his brand Cultured activates the skin’s ability to protect, repair and renew itself. The result is stronger skin that is radiantly healthy - and less prone to sensitivity, dryness and premature ageing. There are three products in the range available now in Brown Thomas: Cultured Biome One Cleansing Balm (€39 for 100ml), Cultured Biome One Mask (€59 for 60ml) and Cultured Biome One Serum (€58 for 60ml).

Shiseido

The Shiseido Essential Energy range (€59) is composed of two skincare products, which provide hydration, comfort to the skin, and help prevent early signs of ageing. Essential Energy unveils the new Hyaluronic Acid RED technology combining an original high-performance hyaluronic acid trio, with a ginseng root extract from The Lifeblood. The aim is to moisturise skin, but also teach it to rehydrate itself from the inside.

A smart botanical complex based on citrus unshiu and rosemary extract completes the effectiveness of the Hyaluronic Acid RED technology by relaunching the endogenous synthesis of hyaluronic acid in the deepest layers of the epidermis, while preventing its deterioration. Skin enjoys a beneficial infusion, while building up its own inner power. It appears plump, radiant and capable of resisting the assaults of time. Available in selected pharmacies and Arnotts.

Dermalogica

We all know there are certain golden rules in skincare but the best skin commandment (and possibly the most ignored) is thou shall not pick at spots. So, if you’ve popped a pimple, the best thing to do is immediately apply the new Dermalogica Clear Start’s Post-Breakout Fix (€25), which helps restore compromised skin after a breakout and helps fade the spots left behind. It can be used on any of your stubborn marks, both new and old .

It helps to visibly fade post-breakout mark while it gently exfoliates and evens skin tone then it restores and nourishes compromised skin The fab four active ingredients are hexylresorcinol, which helps fade post-breakout marks and brighten skin’s appearance , carob fruit extract and squalene restore and nourish compromised skin and finally salicylic acid gently exfoliates and helps even skin tone.

Image AGELESS Total Microderm Exfoliator (€55)

This is a 3-in-1 mega exfoliator inspired by microdermabrasion treatments that helps even out skin tone and texture to reveal fresh, radiant skin. The new AGELESS total microderm exfoliator contains powerful chemical and physical exfoliating agents. Natural AHAs, poly hydroxy acids and rose quartz micro crystals work together to balance the skin, boosting skin’s radiance and clarity.

Vitamin C is the staple day serum of any good skincare regimen. Enter Image MD Restoring Power-C Serum (€140.50), a modern, high-performance vitamin C serum that features an ultra-concentrated, highly stable form of vitamin C along with a next-generation antioxidant inspired by ginger. The serum is optimised to lock in hydration into the skin, while helping to restore firmness, smoothness, and elasticity. Apply 3–5 drops to cleansed skin every morning.
