Prepare for takeoff

Wednesday, 6th March, 2019 4:34pm

Everyone loves a holiday but before you even step foot on faraway shores, you have to face the airport, your experience of which can often make or break your trip.

Here’s some tips to help you get your holiday off to the right start!

• Baggage - do you really need all those shoes?

For ease of access and peace of mind, it’s best to travel light. Check with the airline if you’re planning to bring bulky items like buggies

• Check in - do this online beforehand to save you both time and money. And don’t forget your boarding pass!

• Timing - arrive at the airport around two hours before your flight to avoid a mad dash through security and departures

• Security - I know, you’ve heard it a million times!

All liquids must be under 100ml and be presented in a transparent 1L plastic bag.

Be prepared to remove jewellery, belts, shoes and jackets

• Entertainment - whether for yourself or the kids, make sure to pack a few books or games to pass the time before takeoff

• Departures - it’s not unusual for gate numbers to change last minute, so keep an eye on the departure screens to avoid missing your flight

Finally, don’t forget your passport!
