A Christmas market will take place in Bweeng Community Centre to raise money for the Cork City Hospital Children's Club. There will be a bake sale, gifts and homemade crafts on sale. The market will take place on 24 November from 12-5pm.

Get the season off on the right note with Cappella Lyrica on Sunday 1 December at Fota House. Immerse yourself in the beautiful sounds of this award winning choir in the resplendent surrounds of the magnificent drawing room. The annual Christmas music celebration will include seasonal favourites by Daniel Elder, Stephen Hatfield, Morten Lauridsen, Michael McGlynn and John Rutter and feature Britten's Ceremony of Carols with harpist Anne-Marie Papin Labazordiere. This is a concert for music lovers of all ages! Doors open at 6pm and tickets are €20 which includes parking, complimentary glass of wine/soft drink and a mince pie on arrival! After a three year break, Christmas Open House in Killumney is back again. The home of DJ Murphy, Bride Park Cottage will once again be decorated and for many it marks the start of the Christmas season.

The beneficiaries this year are Marymount University Hospice and the Alzheimer's Day Care Centre in Bandon. The cottage will be open on Thursday 21 and 28 November from 6-10pm, Friday 22 and 29 November from 6-10pm, Saturday 23 and 30 November from 2-9pm and Sunday 24 November and 1 December from 12-8pm.

The Owenabue Garden and Flower club in Carrigaline will hold its Christmas Gala supporting Pieta House, on Monday 25 November at 8pm in the Church of Ireland school hall. Demonstrations will be given by Ann Slattery of AOIFA. Entry is €10 which includes refreshments. Visitors are welcome. Enquiries to 086-3222615.

The Lions Club Christmas appeal for food in aid of St Vincent de Paul takes place on Friday 6 December and Saturday 7 December in Collins SuperValu and Dunnes Stores Carrigaline and Lynchs Centra in Crosshaven. This year’s food collection project is coordinated by Carrigaline Lions Club's first female Vice President Gillian Vaughan.

A variety of crafts from handmade jewellery to Christmas decorations, cushions, prints, paintings, bags, hats and more will be on offer at the craft market in Fermoy Community Youth Centre.

Santa will be there to greet those who have been good this year while the Coffee House Fermoy will be serving coffees. The market will take place on 30 November and 1 December from 11am-6pm.

Now in its seventh festive season at Fota Island Resort, Santa has something very special planned for this year’s Wonder Experience and has gathered together the most fun-loving elves to Ireland to help him bring the wonder of Christmas to families. Wonder at Fota Island Resort runs from 23 November-23 December.

Individual tickets for Wonder at Fota Island Resort cost from €14 per adult and €21 per child with children under one attending for free. Tickets are available to buy online now at fotawonder.ie.
