Lots and lots sold at property auction!

Wednesday, 2nd October, 2019 3:54pm

Success was made concrete at the recent Munster Property Auction. The event, held in the Rochestown Park Hotel, saw the company sell the majority of lots offered in the public auction.

The lots included residential properties, commercial buildings, sites and investment properties from across Cork and Munster.

Patrick Convey of The Munster Property Auction said: “The success of our auctions is down to the extensive marketing campaign we undertake in Ireland and abroad in the lead up to the auction while also working in close partnership with our network of 50 local partner auctioneers from throughout the province. We are also the only auction company in Ireland who do not have any entry or marketing fees to enter a property into auction, so the pressure is on us to ensure we get results for our clients.”

The first lot of the evening was Ridge Cottage, a two bed residence located 2km from Adare, Co. Limerick. Bids came in quick succession before the hammer came down for a delighted phone bidder at €107,000, some €11,000 in excess of the starting bid price.

In partnership with Matt Fallon, the auction team also sold a half acre site in Cork with great potential. The land on the outskirts of Mallow sold when the vendor accepted an offer of €20,000 prior to the live auction event. Similarly, a 1.04 acre plot of land in Kerry was sold in partnership with Horgan Properties, when an offer of €10,000 was accepted before the public auction.

There was a rare opportunity to acquire two properties in Allihies, Co. Cork, sold as one lot in partnership with JJ O’Sullivan Estate Agents. The impressive lot had numerous enquiries from buyers in Ireland and further afield in the lead up to the public auction. The property was offered at bids over €249,000 and sold to a delighted bidder for €260,000.

A three bed semi-detached house in Tipperary, 30 Glen Court, Emly, sold in partnership with DNG Liam O'Grady.

The property had strong interest in the weeks leading into the auction and was successfully sold for €48,500.

The Munster Property Auction are now welcoming entries for their upcoming online auction, taking place on 31 October, as well as their next public auction on 28 November.

Previous years have seen October to December be particularly strong months for property sales. The auction team are keen to speak to property owners who want to sell before the end of the year.

To arrange for a free property valuation or for further information, contact The Munster Property Auction at 021-2349696 or visit munsterpropertyauction.ie. The next public auction takes place in The Rochestown Park Hotel on 28 November at 7pm. Registration begins at 6.30pm.
