Wednesday, 7th October, 2020 1:39pm

This thermostat really is smart!

The Hub Controller, from Irish company Hub Controls, provides automatic energy reduction which translates into savings for the home owner on their heating bills and also on carbon emissions

The device allows people to manage their energy consumption remotely via a smart phone.

A spokesperson for Hub Controls said: “After an extensive trial period and testing, all externally verified and validated, the unit has proven savings, on average, of €29.74 per month and of approximately one tonne of carbon per household per year.”

Founded by Oliver Hynes in 2014, the Hub Controller has gone on to win multiple international awards and is installed in more than 8,500 homes across Ireland.

The device replaces your existing thermostat and it takes over the job your regular thermostat did.

“It’s all done on a clear touchscreen. Even if you aren’t the most tech savvy person, it’s easy to use,” added the spokesperson.

Hub Controls, in partnership with installation company EnergyServ, can deliver this unit at no cost to homes around Ireland that qualify for their device under the Better Energy Homes Scheme.

Hub Controls is an award-winning Irish tech company in the home automation/energy management/data loving sector.

They make future proof smart-home products that are easy-to-use, empowering people to have control over their utility bills.
