Add Yuletide warmth

Wednesday, 4th November, 2020 2:59pm

Hardwoods can add character and opulence to any home, particularly at Christmas.

Hardwoods look spectacular with a natural finish. They have the practical advantage of being hardwearing and endure the rigours of family life. Because of their density and strength, hardwoods will not bruise or dent as easily as softwoods.

Quality European Hardwoods (QEH) provide that accent for vital Yuletide gathering points like the Christmas dining table, the mantlepiece and the kitchen worktop. Properly chosen, hardwoods can survive a lifetime. Finishing with a lacquer, varnish or oil-based product highlights the beautiful wood grain leaving you with a low maintenance surface.

Whilst hardwoods can be more expensive than softwoods or engineered chipboard-based veneers, they provide a lifetime of service. QEH make tables, mantles and worktop to size from its prime substantial stocks of European hardwoods.

A spokesperson said: “We specialise in oak, elm, chestnut, maple, walnut to three metres or more in length with stunning live edges and real character. We also have stocks of oak round tables to 140cm in diameter that will comfortably seat six people.”

QEH is also conscious of its environmental responsibility which is why it sources wood from sustainably managed forests.
