Take a retreat in Spain

Thursday, 31st January, 2019 8:42am

Winter chills and dreary days can literally drain you of colour at this time of year. A zap of Spanish sunshine is more than just what the doctor ordered, especially if combined with an invigorating pilates and yoga retreat.

This six day pilates and yoga retreat in Granada in southern Spain is for all levels, with two yoga and pilates classes a day, including meditation every day. Being at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the landscape around Granada makes an ideal spot for a wellness break.

In between classes, there is plenty of free time for walks, guided tours, beaches and the scenic town of Granada to explore. All classes are led by Carmel Lynch, a pilates and yoga instructor based in Cork city. Carmel has been doing her yoga and pilates retreats in Spain and West Cork for several years. She also teaches in Cork weekly and is trained in various aspects of yoga, yoga therapy and pilates.

Three meals daily are included in the price and all food is locally sourced and includes meat and fish as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The cost is €750 all-inclusive (three meals daily, all classes, accommodation and a private coach transfer from Malaga airport) for six days in a shared room, flights extra. Single rooms are available at a supplement.
