Raidió Rí-Rá launches in Cork

Wednesday, 20th November, 2019 4:28pm

Last week a new radio studio was launched in Cork in Gael Taca in the city centre.

In fact two new Raidió Rí-Rá studios were launched last Wednesday in Cork and Galway by the Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Seán Kyne. Rí-Rá is a chart music station broadcasting entirely through Irish.

Minister Kyne visited the Raidió Rí-Rá studio in Dublin as part of a special broadcast celebrating the opening of the two new branches in Cork and Galway. The Cork studio is located in the Gael Taca offices on Sullivan’s Quay.

The Manager of Raidió Rí-Rá, Niamh Ní Chróinin said: “We are delighted that with the launch of the new studios, and with the support of Gael Taca in Cork and Tech Space and Raidió na dTreabh in Galway, we are able up to provide extra services to the public, particularity to young people. Not only does this enable us to provide an excellent service to the public but it also enables us to provide opportunities to students and to other people in different cities to gain experience in working in media.”
