Wednesday, 22nd August, 2018 4:28pm

Renault Group enjoyed a strong start to the busy 182 registration period, finishing in fourth position overall with a 10.1 per cent combined share of the new car and van markets for July.

Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero brought the Group to the number one spot in the busy B segment with a 15.2 per cent share year to date, while the ever-popular Captur remained on the podium taking up second position in the B-SUV segment for July.

The stylish and spacious Grand Scénic is the best-selling medium MPV this year.

The sleek Renault ZOE took joint second on the podium in the EV segment for July.

In the LCV market, Renault remained in third place on the podium for July with a 14.5 per cent share. Master finished the month as the number one large van, while the recently launched Kangoo Z.E. 33 remained in the top spot as the bestselling electric van.

Trafic and Kangoo finished second and third in the medium and small van markets respectively.

Westmeath emerged as the bestselling county last month, with the Group boasting 23.55 per cent share of the county’s new car and van markets.

The Group’s network of 28 dealerships around the country has unmissable offers on models registered by 31 August across its Renault and Dacia PC and LCV ranges, designed to offer real value to customers and reduce the cost of ownership over three years.

The popular offer of 1.20 per cent APR, €1,200 cashback and three years’ servicing will continue on Kadjar for the month of August.

Customers can avail of three per cent APR PCP or HP on the Renault car range including Clio, Captur, Mégane range, Scénic range and new Koleos, while the 0 per cent APR HP offer will continue on the electric ZOE Z.E. 40.

A three per cent APR HP offer on LCVs will be available for the month of August across Kangoo, Trafic and Master.

Dacia customers can avail of a €1,000 deposit contribution and 4.9 per cent APR on Duster, while 4.9 per cent APR will be available for Sandero and Logan MCV until the end of August.

These offers are available through Renault’s own bank, Renault Bank, offering customers lower interest rates and further savings versus high street commercial banks. A Renault Bank branch is available in all 28 Renault dealerships, offering two-hour decision times and approval rates of 80 per cent.

July saw a total of over €21.5 million lent to Renault and Dacia customers through Renault Bank.

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Director, Renault Ireland said: “We’re delighted to have had such a positive performance for the start of 182. Our award-winning vans were once again on the podium, as was the ever popular Captur, and families are continuing to choose the best selling Scénic.

“I am so proud of our dealer network which has worked hard with us to make July 2018 a highly successful one for Renault Group. Our bank lent over €21.5 million last month to our Renault individual and business customers and with our August offers customers can reduce the cost of owning a vehicle and get real value. We’re looking forward to continued success with the Group going forward.”
