Honda lays out electric plans and 201 plate offers

Wednesday, 20th November, 2019 4:23pm

Honda laid out its plans for its near-term model line-up in October as part of its accelerated Electric Vision 2022 programme.

Honda is further accelerating its electrification plans for Europe by moving forward its goal for all its European mainstream models to feature electrified powertrains by 2022. The bold new target announced during an Electric Vision event in Amsterdam, is three years ahead of the previously announced 2025 goal, demonstrating the confidence Honda has in its electric and hybrid powertrain technology.

This acceleration will see six electrified models launched over the next 36 months into Europe, with the Honda e and new hybrid-only Jazz leading the way in 2020.

The next-generation hybrid-only Jazz will be the first model in Honda’s European line-up to wear the new E-HEV powertrain badging.

Sales of the next-generation Honda hybrid-only Jazz in Ireland is set to start in spring 2020, with the Honda e EV to follow thereafter.

Honda’s, Sales and Marketing Director, John Saunders said: “It is a very exciting time in the motor industry as we transition from traditional technologies and adopt the latest advancements in safety, powertrain and connectivity.

“Honda has managed to lay out a strategic time frame for these changes in line with our customer preferences and model change cycles. Honda has been a leader in hybrid and advanced technology for many years now and are further driving change as part of their 2022 electrification strategy.

“As we launch our 201 customer offers, I am delighted to invite all our customers past, present and indeed future in to our nationwide dealer network to talk about which powertrain will best suit their needs.”

Meanwhile, Honda is setting out its 201 plate customer offers for January. For the Honda Civic Hatchback and Sedan, you can have a 3.9 per cent finance rate on the Civic (hire purchase or PCP) or a ‘complimentary platinum service plan’ on any Civic purchased before 31 December and registered before 31 January 2020.

The Civic range, with the award-winning Honda Sensing package as standard, is available in petrol or diesel, manual or auto and starts from just €24,250 or €259 per month (T&C’s apply).

Also, for 201, customers can upgrade to the stunning and advanced four-door Civic sedan for the same price as the five-door hatchback.

The four-door sedan premium grade also carries a higher specification than the five-door premium hatchback, adding LED fog lights, LED headlights with washer, wireless charging and heat rear seats as standard, valued at €1,500.
