Mixing it up at Live at The Marquee!

Tuesday, 5th July, 2016 11:03am

You could sense the excitement from the ticket collection point, to the car park, through the turnstiles.

Snatches of "These wings are made to fly" and “Take a sip of my secret potion” were heard from excited fans, both young and old, as the large crowd made their way in to the striped tent.

With people gathering from as early as 6pm it was sure to be a thriller. As round two of the Little Mix Cork tour continued last night, fans were once again treated to the Little Mixers opening the show up.

From entering the venue to leaving, people were entertained and had a night to remember. The warm up act of Philippa Hanna was well-received and she did a great job keeping people on their feet in the build up to what was a great entrance by Little Mix.

This really was a concert that you knew the stars actually enjoyed. They opened with many of their well-known songs: ‘Weird People’, ‘Salute’, ‘Secret Love Song’, ‘Black Magic’, ‘Love Me Like You’ and ‘Hair’.

They interacted throughout the entire show and had people singing and dancing, pulling out all the stops to enthral their adoring fans.

They had all the mums and dads chanting and doing things to keep their children happy and made lots of people smile. Little Mix played for about an hour and 15 minutes, which wasn’t bad considering that it was filled with young children as well, so it was enough to keep spirits high.

At one stage, they rallied the crowd to shine their phones and torches in to the air and dance. Other songs featured on the night included numbers by other artists such as Beyoncé, and one lucky fan caught the towel that they used on stage, a souvenir to hold onto.

Things got weird on the Little Mix ‘Get Weird’ tour, but this is what the fans came for, and the pop stars did not fail to wow their music disciples!
