Bandon gardaí seize heroin and cannabis

Heroin and cannabis were seized during a search of a house in West Cork yesterday afternoon. 

Details emerged this morning that gardaí from the West Cork Divisional Drugs Unit carried out the search at a house in the Bandon area yesterday at about 4.30pm.

During the course of the search, gardaí seized approximately €9,000 worth of suspected cannabis resin and €100 worth of suspected heroin.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and was brought to Bandon Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
