Time to keep it natural this year!

Wednesday, 16th January, 2019 4:54pm

With high levels of plastic in the ocean and soaring worldwide temperatures, 2019 is the year to start being personally responsible. We need to reduce waste and be more conscious of what we use cosmetically, and that should also include what skincare we choose.

Handmade in Ireland, Jo Browne Luxury Soap is made with bamboo silk, as a vegan alternative to silk, which adds both texture and luxury to the natural beauty bar.

Two amazing contrasting fragrances will appeal for different occasions and moods, with lovers of fresh floral scents drawn to the Lemongrass and Wild Jasmine soap, while the Sandalwood and Patchoulli composition delivers a warming earthy fragrance that is intense and powerful.

Palm-free and vegan friendly, Jo Browne Luxury Soap is made using the traditional cold press method. It is formulated to be mild and gentle, yet to cleanse with rich abundant lather that softens and protects skin, thanks to high quality natural oils and skin-loving shea and cocoa butters.

Completing the all-natural product composition, the beautiful Jo Browne ribbon-tied bamboo packaging not only looks great but is natural and ecologically friendly too. A super soft eco-friendly Jo Browne bamboo face cloth is an obvious choice to complement these luxurious soaps, which make an indulgent treat and a lovely gift. Priced at €12 for a 100g soap, they are pocket friendly too.

A recent trip away saw me having to pack light for several reasons, but primarily because while I visited Portugal, I had to move around quite a bit.

It also made me realise that may of my multi-tasking products are indeed natural. Some of the handiest products I used were multi-tasking ones, for example, my trusty Cleanse-Off Mitt (€5.99) which is the best for removing makeup. Along with that, I used the Holos This is More oil, which doubled as a cleanser and a body oil, so that meant less packaging and it is just 100mls so handy for carryon luggage.

Eminence has, in recent years, developed quite a cult following as it is organic yet effective. Victoria Beckham listed it recently as one of her must haves.

One such product is the Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum. A collagen, radiance boosting and plumping product targeted at mature skin types, it is a fast-absorbing, advanced serum for all skin types. Collagen formation is boosted, and skin appears firmed and plumped. The appearance of inflammation and redness are reduced. Fine lines and dehydration are reduced, and further signs are prevented.

This week's Irish product focus is Fuschia, a brand that is going from strength to strength.

With Fuchsia’s all-natural Mineral Makeup Foundation you can revamp your foundation routine and make the switch to this all-natural product. Fuschia Make Up’s Loose Mineral Powder Foundation (5g - €28.50/10g - €45) is mineral magic. Derived from all-natural ingredients, this foundation is makeup in its purest form. Providing incredible, gradually buildable coverage, with no harsh chemicals, preservatives, alcohol or dyes, the mineral foundation gives the skin a beautiful, healthy glow, effortlessly.

Its adaptive nature means it warms to the skin and harnesses the natural oils present to create a radiant finish for every individual, making it suitable for all skin types and all ages.

It's best applied to dry skin and built up gradually. It is great if you have had some injectables or facial work done or suffer with redness.
