A new extension to Amy Michelle's

Wednesday, 1st May, 2019 4:52pm

A fabulous set of hair extensions can be hard to come by. Well, the search is over thanks to Amy Michelle!

Amy is the brains and talent behind Refine Hair Extensions which she uses at her salon, Amy Michelle Hairdressing Salon which recently celebrated its three year anniversary.

From working in London for over five years with celebrity clients, growing and making her Turner's Cross-based business the success it is today, Amy knows all there is to know about hair.

“I'm so grateful to get to this stage with my business, it is a fantastic achievement and it only keeps growing. 2019 is going to be such an exciting year!”

Amy Michelle Hairdressing opened on High Street in Turner’s Cross back in 2016, with her experience and connections she quickly built a large client base. “We have our regulars who come weekly, as much for the chats as for their hair!” says Amy.

“It's a cliché but genuinely it is a big family. Recently, we've been having people travelling from Galway, Dublin and Wicklow which just which blows me away! We want everyone to not just love their hair, but to enjoy the whole experience and feel happier when they walk out the door. You get a real sense of pride when you see people come back again and again.”

So what made Amy launch her own line of hair extensions? After over a decade of applying every brand and style of hair extension, and ever the perfectionist, Amy knew she could take all the best elements and create her own brand.

“The hair extensions have taken me two and a half years to get up and running, a lot of late night phone calls to different countries, a lot of samples and a lot of trial and error. I wouldn't launch until I was 100 per cent confident in the product.”

The extensions are 7A grade Remy human hair, pre-bonded with a keratin/protein bond, which is what makes up our own hair and nails.

“They will never damage your hair. They'll last three-five months once they are looked after, using the right extension brush and sulphate free hair products,” comments Amy.

“I've been using them in the salon the last six months and the feedback has just been absolutely phenomenal. I'm just overwhelmed by people's support and how much word of mouth alone has taken off! We had to open on Mondays now too to keep up with the extension appointments alone. It's been amazing.

“Due to the positive response, we've had a lot of interest from other salons in the past couple of months, we definitely planned on wholesaling in the long term but didn't expect it all to take off so quickly. We are so excited to start supplying salons from July, we are taking wholesale pre-orders now and offering stylists/salons 25 per cent off for any order made before 31 May.”

To celebrate three years in business, Amy Michelle's is offering all Cork Independent readers 20 per cent off at the online store refinehairextensions.ie. Just use the discount code 'corkindo' at the checkout.

“I would love to take this opportunity to thank all the people that pass through the door everyday for all the support from our customers and a big welcome to our new ones!” concludes Amy.
