Thursday, 7th November, 2019 8:52am

The Bellevue Spa at the Montenotte Hotel recently launched a new package for expectant mothers.

Head therapist at the spa, Rachel, spoke to the Cork Independent about the spa and all that it offers its clients.

Tell us about yourself

I am the head therapist in Bellevue Spa. I have a lot of return clients and absolutely love what I do. I love to upskill and bring new treatments to Bellevue Spa also.

How long are you working at Bellevue?

Since the spa opened in March 2018.

Most popular treatment at the spa?

Our most popular treatment is our Dermaviduals facial, this facial is customised to suit each specific skin type. Our homecare products are customised and blended in front of each client.

Tell us in detail about what treatments are available in the spa?

We have a wide range of treatments including massage, facials, wraps and scrubs.

We also offer holistic treatments including manual lymphatic drainage and reiki.

You’ve launched a new package for mothers to be, tell us more about that?

We are a boutique spa, and it is the perfect place for new mothers or expecting mothers to relax and be looked after by our wonderful team.

We have a range of treatments to choose from, such as:

1. Pregnancy reflexology which can be use pre and post pregnancy and is also available from eight weeks of pregnancy. This is amazing to help balance hormones; it helps to relieve both physical and emotional tension as well as relax mother and baby and give that deep sense of relaxation each mother or mother to be needs.

2. Pregnancy massage can be done from 12 weeks and aims to help relieve physical tension all over the body and encourage deep relaxation.

3. Breast treatment is an amazing treatment for lifting the breast naturally, helping with toning and relieving tenderness. It is also amazing for cracked nipples during breast feeding.

4. Bump treatment can be done from 12 weeks and works wonders to help reduce stretch marks, itching and relieve tenderness.

5. Foot treatment can be done throughout the pregnancy. This treatment works to relieve tired legs, bringing circulation back to the lower legs which will in turn reduce lower leg swelling.
