Listen out for Open Ear

The final artists for a one of a kind festival on Sherkin Island have been announced.

Open Ear gives a platform to Irish artists involved in the experimental and electronic music scene, in the stunning surrounds of Sherkin, an island measuring three miles long and 1.5 miles wide off the coast of West Cork.

With its most expansive and diverse line-up to date, featuring over 50 performances, the festival has released the final names on the bill for this year’s showcase, which include J Colleran, Zeropunkt, Ocean Floor, 101 Beats Per Minute, Donal Dineen, Ordnance Survey, SYN, Collision Objects, Gadget and the Cloud, Son Zept, Odd Ned, Michael Prime, Kate Butler, Bodycam, BB84, Cáit, Bobofunk, Dylan Kerr, Aonghus McEvoy & School Tour, Safetyboy, Tousist, Lolz, Dublin Digital Radio and Ambisonics Ireland.

Working closely with the Sherkin Island community, these gigs and activities will be dotted in various locations across the island, with pop-up appearances at St Mona’s Church, Horseshoe Bay Quarry, Sherkin Community Hall, The Jolly Roger Bar and scenic spots along the way.

The festival takes place across the June Bank Holiday Weekend, from 30 May to 2 June.
