Ceara brings the boogie

Cork singer Ceara Hurley is set to get her soul groove on when she takes to the stage on the final night of Soul in the City this weekend.

Rounding off three days of cracking live music, dance and food, Ceara will be closing the festival at 11pm on Sunday 2 June at the Brú Bar and Hostel, joined by musicians Philip Guiton and Fionn O’Neill.

Ceara Hurley has been singing since the age of seven, when she auditioned for her school choir.

She very quickly became involved in the various competitions and opportunities that her school provided, including musicals and choirs.

She went on to study music in UCC and has a wide knowledge of genres, specializing in weddings, events and parties.

Ceara has performed with bands such as My Evil Ex, Dr Dynamite and Kilterr and has played widely in Cork. More recently, she has done backing vocals for Soul in the City star Karen Underwood as well as her work with her own band. She performed at Live at St Luke’s in June 2017 as part of the Soul in the City festival that year.
