Fota-graphy competition launched

Calling all of you snappy happy people! There’s a new photography competition on the prowl with a chance to see them perched in Cork Airport.

The new competition from Fota Wildlife Park features a variety of categories that is open to professional, club and amateur photographers of all ages once the photograph has been taken in Fota Wildlife Park from 1 January 2019 up to the closing date of 31 August.

Sean McKeown, director of Fota Wildlife Park said at the launch: “We receive so many wonderful images from our visitors by way of feedback from their visit, and we feel this way we have an opportunity to give them some recognition for their efforts.”

The twelve top entries will feature in Fota’s 2020 calendar and will be exhibited in the airport terminal during the month of October and will be chosen by photographer Darragh Kane.

He said: “If the image can capture a look, expression or action and tell a story then you’re in with a chance to be a finalist and of course patience is a virtue when photographing animals or wildlife!”
