Cork firm launches new online store

A Cork company, dubbed the ‘Amazon of the construction industry’ is set to create 20 jobs and invest €1 million in the next two years, it was announced this morning.

NRG Store, an online sales portal in Ireland for the construction and plumbing sectors, has gone live for the first time with products from an initial 15 retailers specialising in home and commercial improvement retail.

NRG Store, a division of Sea Box Group, will provide Ireland’s first all-inclusive click-and-delivery service for anyone interested in construction, renovation or home improvements.

The site was developed, the firm says, as the construction industry has been one of the slowest to adapt to online retailing.

Patrick Hogan, Group Managing Director of NRG Store said: “NRG Store will revolutionise a sector that has traditionally relied on store-bought products. By offering everything that is required during construction or renovation on on-site, we hope to save both consumers and professionals considerable time and effort. This is the first omni-channel retailer of its kind in Ireland, and will revolutionise a sector that has appeared immune to online change.”

NRG Store has partnered with a number of finance houses to offer those in the trade a series of finance options, providing real working capital to make progress in business happen.

Lauren O’Donovan, Head of NRG Store said: “At NRG Store, we want to make your life easier. We aim to do so by removing financial roadblocks in the way of life and business. Therefore allowing our customers to make things happen, without financial constraints.”
