Gardaí recover body in search for Cork man

Gardaí searching for a missing man in Cork have recovered a body in the Owenabue River.

The body of a man was found just after 5pm yesterday evening by voluntary searchers, Crosshaven Coast Guard and gardaí who launched a search operation for Andrew Willis last week.

33 year old Mr Willis went missing from his home in Carrigaline over a week ago, and had last been seen on Monday night or early Tuesday morning in the Carrigaline/Drakespool area.

A formal identification of the body is yet to take place. No foul play is suspected.

Separately, gardaí are appealing for information on another missing man from Carrigaline. 64 year old Pat (Patsy) O’Keeffe was last seen on Friday at 4pm going from Crosshaven in the direction of Carrigaline.

Gardaí are particularly asking for anyone with information on Mr O’Keeffe’s white Ford Transit Connect van, which has a registration of 08 D 61413, to contact their nearest garda station.
