Murder Capital to play Cork album launch

High-flying band The Murder Capital have announced a host of ins-store gigs to promote their upcoming debut album.

The post punk up-and-comers will play The Crane Lane in association with Music Zone on Thursday 15 August to promote their hotly-anticipated debut ‘When I Have Fears’.

The launch gig is part of a run of signings and in-stores in support of their debut, set for release on 16 August through Human Season Records. The album will be available on gatefold colour LP, black LP, as part of a limited bundle, CD and as a digital download.

Produced by Flood (PJ Harvey, New Order, Foals) the album features both singles released so far by the band so far, ‘Feeling Fades’ and ‘Green and Blue’, as well as the first studio recording of breakthrough track ‘More Is Less’, released as a live session last year.

Despite only forming in 2017, the band has attracted attention for its ferocious early singles, which call to mind the likes of Joy Division and Fugazi, and the intense live presence of Cork frontman James McGovern.

They have been named Irish Times’ Artist of the Week, sold out gigs in Dublin and been championed by the likes of NME, Q Magazine and DIY.

As well as festival dates across the summer, The Murder Capital will head out on tour of Europe and the UK in October/November.
