From September, accountancy students in Cork will be able to participate in an innovative new programme.

Launched by CPA Ireland and CIT, the programme combines an MSc in Applied Accounting with the CPA Professional Qualification while also offering students full-time jobs with a range of employers throughout its three-year duration.

Commencing its first intake of students in September 2019, the master’s programme is aimed at ambitious graduates wishing to pursue a rewarding career in accountancy. It is designed to provide participants with the skill set to work in practice, SMEs, financial technology or multinational companies. Along with the required subjects to qualify as a CPA, trainees will also gain extensive knowledge in the area of IT and analytics for business which will help them uncover valuable insights within their financials, identify process improvements and better manage risk.

This programme is run over three years and during that time each student will be working in a full-time trainee role completing their three-year training requirement.
