Mary Carey-Long who will host a self-care workshop in Cork on 19-20 October.

Self care is the best care

A two day life coaching workshop is set to take place in Cork later this month. The workshop is being organised by Mary Carey-Long, who has worked in training, coaching and mentoring for the past 20 years.

Speaking about her own experience and how she became interested in life coaching, Mary said: “I came to Louise Hay’s work many years ago, she's an American motivation speaker, and have ever since been inspired by her philosophy. Throughout this time, I have experienced and successfully come through many challenges in my life.

“I always found myself reverting to Louise Hay's teachings searching for answers in pursuit of happiness. Once I began to apply the teachings of Louise, I saw many positive changes take place in my life. I now know many of the challenges I experienced were opportunities to grow as a person. It was as a result of this that I decided to train as a Heal Your Life teacher, so that I can share this work with others.”

In a busy world, Mary says we can often put others first and it is easy to forget the importance of self-care.

Continuing she added: “This weekend workshop is a wonderful opportunity to look after yourself and in doing so to strengthen your capacity to help others. We each have thousands of thoughts every day, many of them the same as yesterday. In the workshop, we will explore how changing even some of them can help you to nourish your best self and create a life you want and deserve. What I have learnt is accepting and loving yourself is one of the most important parts of the solution, regardless of what part of your life you want to change.

“My objective has always been to help people to develop a greater appreciation of themselves. I have seen amazing transitions when people choose to love and accept themselves and make positive changes in their lives. I believe we all have the capacity to change and grow, but sometimes we do not have the tools or understanding to do so. I work with people to improve the quality of their lives, reduce their stress, develop self-awareness and a positive sense of self.”

The two day interactive workshop will involved self-investment and learning simple and powerful techniques that you can use to help bring changes in your life where Mary will offer a calm, relaxed, person-centred space, where you will feel safe and supported.
