Bastion fortified with a Michelin Star

A Kinsale restaurant has been awarded a Michelin Star.

Bastion, a restaurant located on Main Street, Kinsale, has been awarded a Michelin Star at the 2020 Michelin awards ceremony in London. The highly acclaimed restaurant, run by Helen Noonan, was among five Irish restaurants to receive a star at the awards ceremony.

Since opening Bastion has quickly garnered a reputation for offering exciting new dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

The innovative menu was developed by Scottish chef Paul McDonald, and offers an exciting mix of tastes and styles, offering pared back combinations at an exceptionally high standard.

Prior to winning the Michelin Star, the bistro-style restaurant was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016, and has since established repute for fine-dining at a reasonable price.

Bastion is the fourth Cork restaurant to receive a star in the last two years, joining Ichigo Ichie in Cork city, Chestnut in Ballydehob and Mews in Baltimore. All three restaurants retained their Michelin Star status this year.
