An event for all!

The upcoming Cork Business & Summit Expo is certainly not just for business people.

Organisers have cordially invited every single transition year (TY) students in Cork city and county to attend the first of its kind event next Thursday.

The students will have the opportunity to speak with some of the country’s leading companies as well as a number of global embassies representing countries all over the world.

Michael Mulcahy of Business Cork, said that he hopes that the expo will give the students a chance to learn about “business, civic life and tourism”.

He said: “It's about giving these TY students the opportunity to learn about business, to learn about countries of the world and opportunities that might present themselves to them when they leave school and want to forge a new career for themselves.

“Students can talk to these embassies and ask them about educational opportunities for when they leave secondary level school.”

He went on to stress that the expo, which is completely free to attend, will have “something for everyone” and that all non-business people are welcome to attend.

Mr Mulcahy said: “There will be a lot of hotels attending from around Ireland. They will all have information about why it might be nice to visit their hotels and take a nice break up the country.

“We will also have a recruitment company called Recruitment.ie which is one of the biggest online recruitment companies in Ireland. They have hundreds of jobs on their books at the moment,” he said.

“While we're not billing it as a recruitment fair, the fact that one of Ireland's biggest online recruiters will be present might be of interest.”

The Cork Business Expo & Summit will take place this Thursday from 9am-9pm in the Clayton Hotel Conference Centre, Silver Springs.
