CIT workshops set to help women develop business skills

A special workshop next month will focus on helping businesswomen further develop their skillsets, especially around learning, networking and development.

Network Cork has partnered with CIT to run the Workshop Wednesday event, part of an ongoing initiative by the Cork branch to enhance and broaden the skillsets of women in the workplace. The event will take place in CIT on Wednesday 6 November from 7.30am–1am.

The workshops will touch on soft skills such as wellbeing and resilience as well as hard skills including marketing, content creation and finance.

There will be six 45 minute workshops on the day suitable for women of all abilities and career levels, from entrepreneurs to those just starting out in their career. Attendees can choose from three workshops on the day and tickets are €25pp, available to purchase on Eventbrite.

Judie Russell of Vidacademy is a new addition to Workshop Wednesday, following the sell-out event last year. Judie has worked on filming projects with both Sky and RTÉ and she will lead a Video Editing Crash Course with an introduction to mobile editing.

Gillian McGrath of Change Grow Succeed returns again to deliver a workshop called Focus on Priorities: How we think about time matters! whilst Jennifer and Niall O’Callaghan of The Life Enhancement Program will offer attendees a unique insight into managing your health and nutrition with a busy working life.

A workshop led by Barbara Nugent, Executive and Business Coach at Transilient Coaching, is set to educate female leaders and influencers in the Cork business community on the topic of resilience, how to beat burnout and how to create self-leadership.

Billy O’Connor of Discovery Partnership, a leading expert who works closely with SME owners and managers, will lead attendees in a lesson on the Importance of Knowing Your Numbers.

This workshop is primarily aimed at business owners but skills learned on the day will be applicable to any role or career level.

Network Cork President, Gillian Hennessy said: “The variety and content of these six workshops have been designed to facilitate a broad range of personal and professional interests within our membership cohort. The workshop providers are all experts in their respective fields and we are excited to collaborate with them on this event.

“We invite all businesswomen in Cork to take advantage of these workshops that have been heavily subsidised to make them more accessible to women at all stages of their career.

“We are delighted to have the support and backing of CIT in this event which will further the skillsets of women in Cork.”

Michelle Collins, lecturer and Placement Co-ordinator at CIT said: “We are delighted to partner with Network Cork again for this year’s Workshop Wednesday event. Continued education and training is essential to success in today’s workplace and CIT is delighted to be able to facilitate this event which will offer many benefits to Network Cork members.”
