Paint brand Dulux has selected a cool-tone shade of green as its colour of the year for 2020. Dulux say that Tranquil Dawn “embodies the nation's mood on the approach of a new decade”.

“This colour is the perfect antidote to busy lives. The room feels like it’s by the seaside. It’s pared down, easy to live with and incredibly comforting. That’s just what you need at the end of the day,” said Marianne Shillingford of Dulux.

Fans of this gentle colour which tends to change shade depending on what it is teamed with will be delighted by the news that the So Simple Tom three-seater sofa, from €779 and the So Simple Tom armchair, from €689, in Simply Velvet will be available in Dulux colour of the year, Tranquil Dawn, from 14 January 2020 in DFS.
