The miniature gift that keeps on giving!

By Margaret Griffin

If you are looking for something unique and beautiful to give as a gift this festive season, then I have a solution for you. It's called a bonsai tree.

Bonsai is a Japanese art form that uses cultivation techniques to produce small trees in containers that mimic the shape and scale of full size trees. It's a great way to bring a bit of organic art into your home.

A bonsai tree is a gift that will keep on giving for many years. Most people find bonsai an ideal house plant for many reasons. The bonsai will fit in any room from bathrooms to living rooms and even in businesses.

Bonsai have long been respected in the ancient art of feng shui for their ability to draw life energies into a room, sharing them gladly with all who pass through. As a focus of sight, conversation, and living forces, a bonsai can quickly spread joy and contentment to all who see it. It can balance a home or office, while asking for nothing but a little love and attention.

Most easy-to-grow species of bonsai are quite hardy, and able to adapt themselves to fit your home.

A little sun, a little water, and the occasional bit of fertilizer is all that's needed to keep one happy and healthy. In return, your bonsai will grow and bloom for you over and over, continually adding life and beauty to your home.

The biggest thing to remember with bonsai is to mist them very day. Never let a bonsai sit in water. A good mist is just the ideal amount of moisture.

Thread a few micro LED battery lights on to the bonsai and switch the lights on before you hand over your gift. Everyone in the room will be in awe.

If you have other gifts that you wish to jazz up, wrap the gift normally but instead of a bow on top of the parcel, put some battery lights on top. This is a real show stopper.

Another ideal gift this Christmas, is a Griffins' gift card. Order one by phoning 021-7334286 and we will post it out to you or your loved one.
