Man charged with pub burglary

A man is due to appear in court this morning charged in relation to a burglary of a city centre pub that took place in November 2019.

The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested yesterday as part of an ongoing investigation by gardaí at Anglesea Street. He was detained at the Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, and was later charged. The man was due to appear before Cork District Court this morning at 10.30am.

The burglary took place at a pub on Carey’s Lane when three suspects entered the premises shortly after 1.30am on Tuesday 19 November 2019. The three suspects gained entry by forcing their way through a fire exit and proceeded to steal a sum of money and alcohol from the premises.
