The future of football on Leeside is in good hands!
That's if Brian Hartnett has anything to do with it - the under 20 player was recently crowned the Cork's 96FM/C103 Sports Star of the Year for 2019. The gala event took place at the Rochestown Park Hotel with owners, the Lehane family, in attendance.
The guest of honour on the night was GAA President John Horan who spoke of his delight at attending the annual event.
With John was his son Liam, who was presented with a jersey signed by his favourite hurler, Cork's Darragh Fitzgibbon, as well as a hurley signed by captain Patrick Horgan. Members of the Cork County Board, including Chairperson Tracey Kennedy, were also in attendance.
Hartnett was not the only winner on the night, former Cork hurler Tim Crowley was presented with the Donal Lehane Distinguished Career Award while Cork minor football captain, Conor Corbett, was honoured with the Kieran O'Driscoll Youth Award following his heroics in Croke Park last year when he led his side to All-Ireland victory.
