Relay for Life set for Mardyke

A marathon 18 hour event will take place in the Mardyke next month. Organised by the UCC Cancer Society, teams of friends, family, and members of the community will come together for one day to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease by raising awareness and having conversations about cancer.

The idea behind the event is that cancer doesn't sleep, so neither will the participants! The 18 hour event is guaranteed to be full of entertainment, live performances, food, games, laughter and much more.

To get involved, those interested need to enter a team of approximately ten people. Each team must raise a minimum of €100 and all money raised goes to the Irish Cancer Society.

Each team is encouraged to fundraise as much as possible and any teams who raise more than the minimum will be entered into a special draw with some fantastic prizes on offer. To register a team or for more details contact relayforlife@uccsocieties.ie.

Relay for Life takes place from 6-7 March and the start time is 6pm on the Friday evening.
