Mitsubishi L200 scoops major award

It's celebration time for Dan Seaman Motors! It was recently announced that the new Mitsubishi L200 has been named the category winner of the Continental Tyres Irish Commercial SUV of the Year award for 2020.

It's the second year in a row that a Mitsubishi vehicle has won the Continental Tyres Irish Commercial SUV of the Year award, with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV named the Continental Tyres Irish Commercial SUV of the Year in 2019.

Attributes including but not limited to load capacity, reliability, overall versatility, cost of ownership and driving comfort were all taken into consideration by the Irish Van of the Year committee while making their decision.

Natasha Maher, Marketing and PR Manager of Mitsubishi Motors Ireland commented: “We were delighted to receive the news again this year that we had won such a prestigious award, the Irish Van of the Year jury are the true experts in their field and for them to endorse the all new L200 is invaluable to us.”

The new Mitsubishi L200 was introduced into the Irish market in September 2019 with a new revitalised bold design. It comes with a five year warranty, as standard and features a 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine providing fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.

Tom Dennigan of awards sponsor Continental Tyres Ireland congratulated Mitsubishi on winning the valuable award. Jarlath Sweeney, Irish Van of the Year committee member, added: “In assessing candidates for these awards, our jurors pay close attention to how the vehicles meet the particular requirements of the Irish market – that is why these recommendations are so useful to Irish van/commercial drivers and fleet managers.”

The SUV was selected by Ireland’s most experienced light commercial vehicle journalists. The Irish Van of the Year jury included Association of Professional Motoring Press members Cathal Doyle, Gerry Murphy, Michael Sheridan, Jarlath Sweeney, Tony Toner, Paul White and Irish Motoring Writers' Association members Brian Byrne, Tony Conlon, Padraig Deane, Michael Moroney, Austin Shinnors and Trish Whelan.
