Financial help for non-profits

Three well known non-profit organisations in Cork were among 39 across Munster to benefit from a community awards scheme.

Cork Arc Cancer Support, Friends of Cobh Hospital and Charleville GAA Club were among the beneficiaries of Analog Devices Charity and Community Awards Scheme.

In all, 39 non-profit organisations and social enterprises across Munster received a financial boost thanks to the Analog Devices employee selected community awards scheme announced recently.

The annual donations programme enables employees at Analog’s Cork and Limerick sites to nominate their chosen community, voluntary or charitable organisation to receive financial support from the company in recognition for their contribution to the local community.

Leo McHugh, VP Marketing & Customer Experience at Analog Devices, said: “Arts, community, education and training, environment, health, social care and sport have all benefited from the impact of our Community Relations Programme.

“We are delighted to be in a position to recognise and support so many worthwhile groups in their endeavours, many of whom are staffed with volunteers from across the community, including employees of Analog Devices. They are the unsung heroes who are making a difference in our communities,” Mr McHugh added.

Site leaders Denis Doyle and Leo McHugh presented cheques to all benefactors at a special reception recently where the respective awardees were hosted by their nominating employees.

Denis Doyle, Vice President and General Manager of Manufacturing at Analog Device, said: “We are delighted to give employees the opportunity to have their say on how we distribute our charitable donations. Each of the 39 beneficiaries have been chosen by employees because they or their families and friends either rely on them or they support them through volunteering and fundraising efforts.”
