Many local businesses are trading online during this Covid-19 outbreak.

Support local by buying online!

We’ve all had to adapt to a new way of living. Just like animals in the wild, we’ve had to find new ways to survive from sourcing food to keeping within our safe 2km environment.

The same goes for many businesses around Cork city and county who have had to change the way they operate to survive, doing things from online trading only to limiting the amount of people on the shop floor.

With good wifi and a stocked up fridge, some people can easily work from home during this Covid-19 outbreak but we’re also doing more in the home than we were ever before. Hotpresses have been cleared out, bags of clothes are ready forcharity shops while there’s no excuse not to do those DIY jobs you’ve been meaning to tend to. Our garden furniture is out again and gardens are looking great.

It is hard to get used to a new way of living and different routines but there’s plenty of businesses who can help us in a bid to live like we did prior to the restrictions.

Some cafes and restaurants are taking orders over the phone and via delivery websites for collection and delivery for example.

Several DIY stores are also delivering as are many pharmacies and of course supermarkets, so staying at home is easier.

It’s also important to support and shop local where you can from books to clothes to paint to coffee and treats. A lot of local suppliers have an online presence so get shopping.

Have you seen justbuyirish.com? It’s a great resource detailing where businesses will deliver to and some of Cork’s favourite business are on it like The Olive Company, Koko Kinsale, Gym + Coffee and The Chocolate Shop in the English Market.

However you’re occupying your time, stay safe and wash those hands!
