Get this party started!

The ball must go on! Even though the current restrictions mean that graduation balls can’t take place, tonight a very special graduation ball will take place celebrating all the sixth years of 2020!

It’s been a very odd year and there has been so little socialising in the last three months, but The Hope Foundation have teamed up with RedFM’s well-known DJ Stevie G to celebrate the extraordinary class of 2020. This special Virtual Graduation Ball will take place tonight, 28 May.

The Hope Foundation say they want to bring hope to sixth year students during this unprecedented global crisis which has brought so much fear and worry.

A spokesperson said: “We have been listening to the young people, including our past immersion programme students and those from Terence MacSwiney Community College, about how they are all feeling in these times. The class of 2020 is a class like no other, unique in the history of the state. And so, we decided that they needed to celebrate and to be celebrated.

“The Virtual Graduation Ball aims to bring togetherness, fun and hope for their bright futures, to this incredible group of sixth year students. We want to reward them for the huge personal sacrifices they have made to keep the vulnerable members of our society and each other safe from Covid-19, with an evening of fun and dance.”

Stevie G will be broadcasting live from The River Lee Hotel using the streaming site Twitch. He will be joined by some famous faces who will be dropping in to give shout outs on the night to a very special group of young people.

Open to all students, all they have to do is get dressed up, join the ball, maybe TikTok it, go live on Instagram Stories or Zoom with your classmates, and celebrate a graduation with a very unusual set of classmates!

The Hope Foundation are inviting the students of 2020 to dance with us for Hope and for each other.
