UCC sets start date
UCC has confirmed it will deliver a mix of online and face to face teaching when its new academic year begins later this year.
Dubbing it a hybrid model, UCC officials have said that it will combine online and face to face elements such as offering online lectures for larger class groupings and offering face to face seminars, tutorials and laboratory and field classes for smaller groups.
The academic year will begin on 28 September and, in an email to students, Deputy President and Registrar, Professor John O’Halloran, said that the safety of the students and staff “is paramount”.
He added: “As much face-to-face teaching and learning as possible will be provided subject to the prevailing national public health requirements.”
The last day of the UCC term will be on 18 December, and in light of current government policy, all supplemental examinations will be online.
