Special sixth class send-off

The departing sixth class pupils of Sunday's Well Girls' Primary School received a very special pack to mark their graduation.

With the support of Gurranabraher Credit Union, the Parents’ Association delivered the pack to all the pupils which included a framed class photograph and other goodies.

Speaking about the unusual graduating circumstances, Principal Liz Horgan said: “We are so grateful to our wonderful Parents’ Association. Their careful consideration of HSE guidelines resulted in a novel way of recognising the graduation of our fantastic sixth class pupils. Gurranabraher Credit Union have been a great support to our school over the years, and we thank them for sponsoring this initiative. They have made a very positive contribution to the school and all of our pupils, past and present.”

Philip Hosford, CEO of Gurranabraher Credit Union, said: “We are delighted that we can help recognise this important event. Working in the community as we do, we have a very close relationship with the schools and pupils and we know that the role we take in marking these events has a benefit for our local community.”
