It's hard to find opportunities to meet people during lockdown.

Find love in lockdown

Eithne Buckley of Munster-based dating agency Twoheartsmeet is delighted to be back matching her clients after everything came to a standstill during lockdown.

Eithne Buckley of Munster-based dating agency Twoheartsmeet is delighted to be back matching her clients after everything came to a standstill during lockdown.

She said that lockdown gave some single and unattached people plenty of time to think about whether they were happy on their own or would prefer being part of a loving couple.

Eithne has been very busy since the hotels reopened because finally she could go back to matching the people on her books as now they have somewhere to go to meet for a coffee and chat - naturally maintaining social distancing.

“I have had lots of enquiries from single, widowed and divorced people,” she said, “as socializing as we knew it is gone for now and people don’t have as many options to meet someone new.”

She added that people are very cautious about not catching or passing on Covid-19 but they are also lonely and long to be dating and developing a loving relationship with someone new.

“People don’t want to put their love lives on hold for another year or however long it may take,” she said. “Once people are sensible and responsible, there is no reason why their quest for love should be curtailed.”
