Tech it away there Cork!

Determined Cork-based tech company National Busines Machines (NBM) is continuing its €750,000 expansion this year, despite Covid-19.

The expansion, which positioned NBM as Xerox’s largest Irish channel partner, was announced last year and is largely focused on infrastructure and personnel.

So far in 2020, the company has managed to keep the expansion on track, promoting a new sales director and adding three new account managers and an accountant to the team.

The company is one of Ireland’s leading providers of workplace solutions, software, services, managed print services and large scale production printers.

Managing Director at NBM, Michael Galvin, said: “We’ve had a challenging year, but it’s been a year of learning for us and we were able to evaluate and adapt our business under the current climate.”

Meanwhile, award-winning global leader in fluid management technology Watson-Marlow has announced it will open a state-of-the-art facility in Cork next year.

The new ISO 14644-1 Class 7 cleanroom will be added to the company’s existing Cork site and will be certified to meet the demands of the highly regulated pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector in Ireland.

The facility is currently in development and will be validated to ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards in Q1 2021, creating a number of new employment opportunities.
