Start afresh with a new skincare routine

Cleansing your skin twice a day is essential. Double cleansing is even better, depending on your desired results and of course crucially, your skin type.

Here are some of my picks for all skin types:

Brightening

Ultraceuticals The Ultra Brightening Foaming Cleanser (€42) is ideal for dull and lacklustre skin. The silky foaming cleanser contains brightening ingredients that will help refresh and brighten your skin complexion.

Neo Strata Enlighten Cleanser (€35) is a gentle non-drying cleanser that removes makeup, dirt, and oil, while brightening and refreshing dull and tired skin. The pearlescent, creamy cleanser develops into a plush foam that deep cleans to reveal naturally radiant skin. This cleanser also targets dark spots that can cause skin to appear uneven.

Oily

Many people who have an oily complexion often turn to over-drying cleansers and skip moisturising which often disrupts the skin’s natural protective barrier. This can then cause the skin’s natural microbiome to become unbalanced. So how do you control and re-balance oily skin? Dermalogica Active Clay Cleanser (€42) delivers powerful prebiotics that nourish the skin’s beneficial bacteria to bring the natural microbiome back into balance, keeping oil in check while protecting skin’s moisture barrier.

Skingredients Sally Cleanse (€25) is formulated with two per cent salicylic acid, the highest amount of salicylic acid permitted for use in cosmetics in the EU. Salicylic acid, an oil-soluble exfoliating acid, means that the Sally Cleanse can dissolve oil and dead skin cells in pores to help prevent congestion such as blackheads, whiteheads, lumps, and bumps while assisting in our skin’s natural exfoliation process and aiding in oil regulation. Sally Cleanse is ideal for oiliness, blackheads, and blemishes, and is to be used once every three nights alongside a mild, nourishing cleanser.

Sensitive

Skingredients Pre Probiotic Cleanser (€25) is step one in Skingredients’ ‘Core 4’ routine, and is ideal for alternating with active, exfoliating cleansers like Sally Cleanse. Pre Probiotic Cleanser gently removes makeup, including eye makeup, while hydrating and gently exfoliating. It’s suitable for all skin types and is ideal for both morning and night-time use.

All rounders

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser (€26) gently removes dirt, oil, and makeup (yes, even your favourite longwear mascara) and reveals refreshed, energised skin.

Pestle & Mortar's Renew Gel Cleanser (€44) is a lightweight, refreshing formula that promises to purify and brighten your complexion. The luxurious cleanser expertly eliminates dirt and impurities, whilst helping to tighten visible pores and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Makeup removal

Dermalogica Precleanse Balm (€49) is a water-activated, balm-to-oil version of Dermalogica’s top-selling oil cleanser. It deconstructs layers of excess sebum (oil), waterproof makeup, and residual product build-up on skin. It’s ideal for normal to dry skin, safe for use around the eye area and suitable for vegans

Eve Lom Cleanser (€65) provides a deep, skin-reviving cleanse. The balm boasts an expertly balanced formula that suits all skin types and combines the brand's signature blend of four aromatic plant oils that promote glowing, radiant, smoother-looking skin. Providing a deep yet gentle cleanse, the formula effortlessly melts away dirt and makeup while gently exfoliating and decongesting without drying or stripping skin.
