Right at Home Cork offers care for elderly and disabled people in the comfort of their own homes.

Making a difference

“The fact that our carers take time to listen to and chat to our clients over a cup of tea is something that cannot be underestimated.”

The words of Cian O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Right at Home Cork who deliver care and support to many older people and adults with disabilities across the city and county.

Right at Home Cork’s care services are tailored to suit each client’s needs and local environment, ranging from personal care to meal preparation to light housekeeping.

“Across Ireland, there are approximately 157,000 over 65s who live at home alone. In our work, we are acutely aware of the biggest issues facing our elderly population.

“We hear time and again that one of the most important services we can provide to alleviate that is companionship,” said Mr O’Sullivan.

He added that the aim of Right at Home is to assist clients so that they can live independently at home for as long as possible.

“Building understanding and empathy is key to providing the best standards of care. I know that our trained care staff here do this on a daily basis.

“For many of our carers working in their local communities here in Cork, making a difference can be very rewarding,” he said.
