Kinsale Community School is set to build ten new classrooms as well as new toilet facilities.

More room for Kinsale school

The funding to build the additional facilities was awarded through the Department of Education’s Emergency Works and Additional Accommodation schemes.

Fianna Fáil TD for Cork South West Christopher O’Sullivan congratulated the school and its principal Fergal McCarthy who he said is “always thinking ahead”.

“This is a school that keeps going from strength to strength. I attended the official opening of the school back in 2019 by President Michael D Higgins. I was blown away by messages of inclusivity and wellbeing dotted around the school,” Deputy O’Sullivan said.

He added: “At the start of the pandemic, the students showed so much innovation when they began producing face masks for front line workers using their 3D printers. The musical talent in this school is also incredible,” he added.
