So Last Season: It's lovely to wonder who might've owned the piece

We all know I am completely addicted to jewellery.

In fact I would say I enjoy collecting jewellery much more than clothing. I develop such an attachment to each special piece as it usually has memories attached to a life event or a trip somewhere.

Jewellery holds so many memories for people which is why I love Ivy’s Attic Jewellery which is based in Cork and offers a unique selection of preloved vintage jewellery as well as a range of classic, vintage-inspired new pieces.

The concept for Ivy’s Attic began in summer 2020 when Sean, back in his family home for the first time in years due to lockdown, was on the lookout for a new project.

On a whim, he purchased a batch of vintage jewellery not exactly sure what he would do with it. When the jewellery arrived, it was so impressive that Sean decided to set up an Instagram page and started to post pictures of the pieces daily against the backdrop of the West Cork countryside. Unexpectedly the jewellery began to sell and the rest, as they say, is history.

The vintage pieces at Ivy’s Attic are so unique - as one would expect from vintage jewellery.

I’ve purchased a charm bracelet from them myself and it’s lovely to wonder about who might have owned the piece before and to be able to give it a new lease of life when mixed with your own contemporary pieces of jewellery.

I was also excited to hear that today, 1 April, at 6pm they will be launching Touch Of Gold by Ivy’s Attic which is a curated collection of classic, vintage-inspired pieces with a view to being worn everyday and that you can pair with your special vintage treasures to create a look that is unique to you.

The collection consists of 18 carat gold plated, gold vermeil and nine carat gold pieces all coming in at a very affordable price point for these beautiful pieces of jewellery.

As Sean said: “We pride ourselves on offering you high-quality jewellery in an affordable and sustainable way. With that in mind, all our pieces have been sourced from hand-picked European suppliers, with decades long traditions of producing quality jewellery in small batches.”

Every piece of the Touch of Gold collection also comes to you in a FSC certified cardboard eco jewellery box making it even more sustainable.

The campaign imagery was shot by Cork-based photographer Aleksandra Schmidt with Cork-based model Evelyn Harrington and you know we love to see Cork creatives coming together on these sorts of amazing projects.Be sure to check out the launch today and find the perfect piece or two to add to your jewellery collection.
