Singer/songwriter Áine Duffy from Bandon with her converted donkey box.

Coming to a patch of land near you!

Áine, an avid lover of carpentry, created the fondly nicknamed Duffbox as a “passive home” and portable stage from which she plans to promote her latest single ‘I’ll Wear White’.

The upcycled contraption will be the venue for many impromptu and pre-booked live shows that Áine says can literally take place wherever there's a patch of land.

According to Áine, her new single ‘I’ll Wear White’ was written as a way of communicating awareness of old-fashioned rules that lead to unkindness and cruelty.

It’s “a different take on the resolution of old problems that don't want to go away, seeing oneself as separate and untainted will help society to grow out of its old clothes,” she explains.

There is a lot going on in her new single and accompanying video shot by Tiago Balistia of Jam Media, and it might take you a couple of goes to get your head around it.

It’s political, it’s unique and it’s downright fascinating music.

The Bantry native has built an impressive reputation over the years, playing around the world to places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, London, Dubai, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and beyond.

She has also graced many revered stages and festivals here more locally, playing at Electric Picnic, Body and Soul, Cork Opera House and the Middleton Arts Festival.

At the moment, Áine is working with Wayne Sheehy, creator of the hit TV show ‘The Last Pub in Ireland’.

The pair are collaborating on a new run of songs that they hope will establish their sound beyond what they have already achieved.

So, keep and eye out for a shiny red and white donkey box on your travels; you just might be in for a special treat.
