Wimbledon is for fashion! Photo: Shep McAllister

Anyone for Pimms and fashion at SW19?

Did I watch any of it? No I did not. However I was involved in a family soccer wager which saw me drawing Italy out of the hat so I did pocket fifty euro for myself without having the faintest idea of what was going on!

I also have zero interest in what’s happening on the tennis court but does anyone else not find it completely fascinating watching celebrities sitting courtside doing normal things like being spectators?

I often wonder do they actually like tennis or do they just go because they get the free ticket? If I was a celeb and offered free tickets to Wimbledon, I don’t think I could take them as I would want to leave after ten minutes. I’m also assuming the tickets are free but maybe they pay for them and if so then they surely must be interested.

Anyway the main exciting thing for me about Wimbledon was that this marked one of the first occasions or events where we got to see celebs back out socialising and so we got a chance to snoop at their outfits.

I much prefer what they wear to things like Wimbledon because its smart casual daywear and thus you can imagine yourself wearing these looks and gathering inspiration while awards season for me is just a bit samey with the gowns and the suits.

There are some things that you’ll always see at Wimbledon and you can guarantee that Kate Middleton will rock up at some stage wearing a polka dot. This year she wore a navy and white polka dot skirt with a white top and navy blazer complete with white accessories.

While another Royal Princess Beatrice rocked up in a white and black polka dot Self Portrait dress and Holly Willoughby wore a similar green style. It just shows that if you’re looking for an easy to wear print that screams summer garden party, then look no further than polka dot.

A white suit is another staple of Wimbledon and I absolutely adored Billie Pipers oversized white shorts suit. It was modern and stylish and kept really paired back with sunglasses and a simple white heel. Sometimes I love to add a dash of vibrant colour to a monochrome look but there are times when just keeping it simple works just as well.

The singer FKA Twigs also wore a suit which had a more classic tailored feel to it and it was just as lovely. Ever since Bianca Jagger wore a white suit to her wedding they have always had a moment and look completely timeless. I don’t own one myself but I would definitely look at adding a white shorts suit to my wardrobe.

Sienna Miller is a Wimbledon stalwart and so I’m always interested in what she will wear and this year she didn’t disappoint in a fabulous and fresh blue and white striped Ralph Lauren shirt and trousers. The shirt was reminiscent of what Meghan Markle wore back in 2018 and she went less matching and paired hers with a pair of white trousers. Its really the perfect shirt for summer and look to the menswear department to pick up a more oversized shirt which will work well over everything from leather trousers to denim cut off shorts.

If you fancy something a bit dressier wear over a fitted slip skirt and wear with a barely there heel and clutch bag. Thank you Wimbledon for providing us with endless summer outfit inspiration!
